ENDORSEMENTS

In order to be considered for the CAPD endorsement, a candidate must submit a completed questionnaire. The questionnaire will be sent out via our newsletter and will also be posted on this page.

Questionnaires must be completed and returned to CAPD by the noted deadline. There is no grace period and any response received after the deadline will not be included and the candidate will not be eligible for the CAPD endorsement. Candidates are required to use the word doc that has been provided. Completed questionnaires must be sent to hello@capdaustintx.com.

All questionnaires will be publicly posted on this page and emailed to the CAPD membership. Candidate speaking order and endorsement ballot order will be the same as the order on the ballot. If the ballot is not public, then we will default to alphabetical order by last name.

All candidates must participate during the endorsement meeting. Surrogates will not be allowed to speak for candidates. Exceptions will only be granted for emergencies or other extenuating circumstances and after being reviewed by the CAPD Board.

A candidate must receive 55% of the votes in order to be endorsed by CAPD. There are no runoffs. CAPD only endorses in contested races.

We will send out a schedule of events closer to the date of the endorsement meeting. The schedule of events will contain speaking times, speaking order, and other pertinent information.
